About The Event
You might have seen my posts about pottery workshops in Fremantle, but on November 11th, there will be a special event to support a dear friend who is battling a rare and highly aggressive form of cancer.
Fabio is a childhood friend of mine. The first time he had cancer, he was in high school, and it was a brain tumor, which was successfully removed, and everything seemed to be going well. Now, at the young age of 37, the cancer has returned, and it is very aggressive and in a rare form. It has spread from the cranium all the way down the spine to the coccyx. This has resulted in ongoing pain, and he is unable to work anymore. His doctor has given him a maximum of 5 months to live if the treatments don't work.
Since he can no longer work due to the heavy treatments and doesn't receive emotional or financial support from any family, he is living entirely alone. I hope we can help him through a CHARITY EVENT.
The purpose of the event is to raise money to support him during his treatments and also to show him that PEOPLE CARE AND HE IS NOT ALONE. It's a 3-hour workshop on Saturday, November 11th. The cost is the same as usual: 135 AUD, which includes supplies, firings, wine, and sharing food platters. I will be assisted by another potter who is generously participating, so we can offer more tickets than usual. The location will be in Fremantle but needs to be confirmed.
ALL THE TICKET MONEY WILL BE DONATED! This means that I will transfer the entire 135 AUD per person who participates to him. Each participant will receive an email with the total bank transfer receipt.
I will cover the costs of food, wine, supplies, location, firing, and I'm also donating my time. I hope you can participate or help spread the word about this very important event on November 11th! 🙏
Thank you for reading this far. If you have any questions on how to participate, or donate extra, please a DM on instagram @frasceramics. If you can't afford the 135 AUD, please reach out. I am open to accepting participants with smaller donations.

More on the event:
At your arrival, you'll find everything ready for your ceramics creations, a complementary glass of wine and a sharing food platter, to keep up your energy up and creativity.
I'll be teaching you the slabbing technique and the flower imprinting decoration. You'll be able to make a platter, or a mug, or a vase, or a candle holder or a cup. It's up to you to decide. The table will be decorated with flowers and plants, textiles, Indian wood blocks and shells that we'll be using for our clay imprinting.
At the beginning, I'll provide you some clay to have fun and try all the imprinting you are curious about and chose the one that is perfect for your creation :)! The workshop is perfect for total beginner. There is nothing more exciting for me than seeing beginners making beautiful creations. If you are already familiar with ceramics, it's a nice workshop to create what you would like, and I'll follow you step by step to make you achieve your dream ceramic design.
After the workshop, the creations will take around 2 months to be ready to be collected (between drying, first firing, painting, glazing and second firing). I'll personally paint and glaze your pieces with the color you prefer.Â
Clay, tools, 2 firings, food and wine are included in the price.
